The more you dive, the more you save by booking our 3-14 day 2 tank boat diving packages that include unlimited shore diving.
If your last dive was more than 2 years ago, we recommend you to take the PADI or SSI Refresher course before joining the boat dives.
De PADI or SSI Refresher course takes 2-3 hours and includes theory review, skills review and a shore dive with an instructor.
If you have not been diving for 5 years or longer, we recommend the PADI ReActivate. This includes e-learning theory (to complete in advance), skills practice and a dive with your instructor. After completing the ReActivate successfully, you will be issued a new card with the date of your ReActivate course on it.
Of course you can! Our afternoon snorkeling trips combined with a one tank boat dive is fun for the while family whether you are certified or not.
BUT… If you have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater and you want to try scuba diving, consider the Discover Scuba Diving experience. At Ocean Encounters this PADI or SSI introduction to scuba diving course is available at LionsDive Beach Resort or at Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa and Casino.
While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
To sign up for a PADI or SSI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Are you ready to dive in with Ocean Encounters to discover the magic of the underwater world?
For your safety and also for overall diving enjoyment, each Ocean Encounters Dive Master is limited to 10 divers per group. Due to the capacity of our custom dive boats, a maximum of 2 – 3 buddy teams are formed.
At Ocean Encounters, our Dive Team consists of attentive PADI and SSI Professional Dive Masters. They make it their career to not only serve you but also to provide pre-dive safety briefings, dive site orientations and, of course to expertly guide the dives. Their combination of skills, abilities and local knowledge of the dive sites leaves nothing to chance.
Yes, Cressi Digi2 integrated console computers and Leonardo wrist mounts are available for rental! At Ocean Encounters we pride ourselves in the quality and the reliability of our rental equipment. That is why we choose Cressi as our exclusive rental equipment supplier.
Why should you consider renting or buying a dive computer? A dive computer is an essential piece of personal dive gear gear that allows you to extend your time and safety while in the water. Modern dive computers update you constantly on how much time you have left, based on your current depth. Essentially this allows you to remain safely underwater for longer with potentially shorter safety stops.
Visit the Ocean Encounters Dive Shop at LionsDive Beach Resort for more information about our rental equipment plus the latest products from Suunto, Scubapro, Mares and Cressi. Our expert Dive Team can assist with finding you the right solution to meet your needs and expectations.
The average depth of the beautiful fringing reefs in Curacao is between 3-30meters (10 -100 feet) and the Dive master will go to maximum 18m /60 ft.
Our Dive Masters encourage Buddy teams to follow their own dive profiles as long as they stay within recreational diving limits and their personal limits. Diving plans and safety briefings are conducted before every dive by the on-board Dive Masters.
Safety Stops, at Ocean Encounters, are part of every dive and as responsible professionals we encourage you to perform a minimum 3 minute stop between 3-5 meters (15-20 feet) on every dive. Please note – decompression stops, decompression diving or technical diving is strictly prohibited unless pre-arranged via a private charter.
What is the difference between a decompression stop and a safety stop? A decompression stop is mandatory on dives which have exceeded the no stop decompression limit. Whereas a safety stop is a recommended stop on all dives.
We have a locker room to store your dive equipment both at LionsDive Resort and at Sunscape Curacao Resort.
This secured area is only open from 8:00am to 5:00pm. However, for night diving, please ask one of our Dive Team members for a key.
